nature's palette

a workspace for Kim Couture

The client's handmade costumes require seamless movement throughout the workspace. To support this, the design avoids sharp corners and restrictive layouts, promoting a fluid workflow. The color palette is inspired by airbrushed fabric techniques that are essential to the client's work. A combination of dark brown and beige tones evokes a gradient and dynamic sense of flow.

flow

The concept and layout originated from this shape - a common design feature in most of the client’s work.

organic shapes

The client’s designs are mainly based on organic and natural shapes. The furnitures are curvy and rounded, creating a sense of fluidity to the space as well as bringing efficiency to the work flow.

light & air

The three cylinders are meant to improve both natural light and ventilation of the space. Two are designed as break areas were you can enjoy sunlight and a breath of fresh air, while the other acts as a display window.
